What to write about?? And my sibs

Almost every day I have a good post running through my head. I sometimes come up with titles and exact wording and the whole nine yards. But when it comes to actually sitting down to type and add pictures and be clever, I sort of run out of steam. Maybe because it is usually after 10pm when I sit down to type. If I could just hook my head up to a USB port and let the thoughts stream out oh-so-coherently, this would be a better blog. As it is, my blog is just so-so. But I like it, and I guess that's all that matters. Although I hope you like it to. Because I'm insecure like that. : )

Anyway, what would you like to hear and see here on According to Amy?

More fashion?
More recipes?
More self-deprecation?
More cute and annoying kid antics?

Here's one for you: Kara and I were driving home from the grocery store yesterday. I was feeling tired and pensive (must have been the swirling dark clouds in the sky) so I turned on the local classical music station. Go figure, some pensive cello music was playing. I was quite enjoying my moment when Kara asked "What song is this, Mom? 'I Smell Toenails'?" (Wow. I am 99% sure I punctuated that sentence incorrectly. And yet, I am not going to think about how to change it.) Yes, Kara, I am sure that's what it was. Rachmaninoff's concerto for cello. The "I Smell Toenails" movement.

And now, a few photos of me and my great siblings from Christmas. I love to be with all of them, and it doesn't happen nearly enough.

My seesters. Almost in age order. Lisa, Amy, Shauna, Marisa. Shauna is the baby of the sisters. Lisa is 35, I'm 33 (for one more month), Marisa is 31, and Shauna is 28. I think.

And we have a brother! His name is Joel and he is 25. And single. : ) He is everyone's favorite uncle and my favorite brother. By far. My favorite thing about this picture is how I don't look like I weigh 20 pounds more than my sisters even though I do.

Me and my parents. Aren't they young-looking? I found my second gray hair today, so I can't be too young anymore.

The original clan. We wanted some great grandkid photos (all in coordinating clothes), but we had some uncooperative little darlings, so we just got the adults. I have a dream that someday every child will cooperate, or at least not throw a fit, and we can have a decent family photo.
