Everyone rolls out of bed around 8:00am (well, not the teenager types), and I get the little girls breakfast and go work out. Then we do various things like piano practice, workbooks and chores, and suddenly it's 1pm. If it's a sunny day we head to the pool. We've hardly even had play dates or day trips or anything. We do some more stuff, like errands and cross country practice and playing in the backyard and suddenly it's 10:18 and I'm shooing the big kids to bed. And then I blink and it's midnight and past time for bed. I do try to wake up earlier to exercise, and sometimes I succeed, but fatigue has claimed me once again, and I feel foggy and tired.
But that's not what you want to hear about! What you want to hear is how I promise some day very soon I'm going to clean out every nook and cranny of my house, get rid of tons of stuff, and do some minor redecorating and rearranging. I just have to convince you-know-who that we really do need new pendant lights in the kitchen. I'm trying to be extra kind to him, though, because he's leaving in exactly one month and I want him to miss us dreadfully. But not so dreadfully that he's depressed, just enough that he loves to come home.
You also might want to hear about how happy my yard is making me, although it is need of a good weeding and pruning. The blueberries have been abundant and delicious. We've had a few tomatoes already, the beans are so tasty, and the magic moment when I can go make a salad of lettuce, tomato, carrot and cucumber is almost here! Maybe next week! We have a hammock on the deck and badminton set up and it is so pleasant to be outside, especially in the evening. I've been watching the stars and seeing two bats flit about. Very zen. Which I need, because I'm feeling stressed.
Enough rambling? Okay. I want to blog more often, if only to get some thoughts in writing and have a chance to stay connected. Night night.
